Barbell complex with snatches

WOD:
  • Power Snatch
  • Snatch Balance
  • Overhead Squat
  • Hanging Squat Snatch
30 Reps

Prescribed was 95lbs, but this is a real hard lift for me, so I did 75lbs, which was a good call.

Time = 22:39. Not terrible, gaining confidence with the snatch balance and hanging squat clean.

Snatchin' and double-underin'

Today's WOD:
  • 60 Double Unders
  • 60 Sit ups
  • 20 Squat Snatch 95lbs/65lbs
  • 30 Double Unders
  • 30 Sit ups
  • 10 Squat Snatch
  • 15 Double Unders
  • 15 Sit Ups
  • 5 Squat Snatch
Prescribed weight was 95lbs, but I did 75lbs as I slowly ease into things. Forgot to note my time. But it wasn't very good -- the double-unders holding me back as usual.

Snatches and wall balls

WOD: 3 rounds of:
  • 25 snatch (75lbs/45lbs)
  • 25 Wall Ball (20lbs/12lbs)
These are full squat snatches as in your hips are below parallel at the receiving position of the bar.

Time = 22:00.

After doing several snatches I had to dumb it down to 65lbs -- and it was still not easy given the sorry state of my right shoulder. I'm having great difficulty holding the bar behind my head, resulting in a ridiculously wide squatting stance to compensate (not to mention leaning forward on my toes).

This lack of shoulder mobility is also impacting on my overhead squats. I need to lessen the loads when doing anything involving a sustained overhead movement.

Snatch

Lots of snatches today.

Did snatch progression up to 110lbs (PR) followed by:
  • 400m run
  • 15 x snatches (75 lbs)
Time - 15.31: Very hard on the legs. And by time we were all done we had worked out for nearly 75 minutes.

Light Isabelle + bike ride

30 snatches at 75lbs - took me 9:14.

Later in the day I rode my mountain bike 8km on the trails and it took me 33:36.
